Pop Up Weddings is a licensed issuer of marriage licenses in Manitoba. License fees are included in your Pop Up Wedding package.

To obtain your marriage license with Pop Up Weddings, both must be present during your initial coordination meeting. Individuals must be:

  • Be single, divorced, or widowed:
    • Single – (never married) and over 18 years of age
    • Divorced persons are required to show one of:
      • Divorce Certificate
      • Decree Absolute
    • Widowed – persons whose spouse is deceased must show:
      • Death Certificate or
      • Funeral Home Statement of Death or
      • Obituary clipping from the newspaper
    • Provide identification for proof of age (18 years or older).
      • Acceptable documents for identification can include:
        • Birth Certificate
        • Passport or US Passport Card
        • Citizenship Certificate (Canadian or United States)
        • Canada Immigration documents
        • Canadian Armed Forces Identification Card
        • Government of Canada Indian Status Card
      • Driver’s License (photo ID) with one of the following:
        • Manitoba Health Card
        • Senior Citizen Card/Old Age Security Card
        • Change of Name Certificate
        • Social Insurance Card

Pop Up Weddings will handle all administrative tasks for completing your marriage registration. After your ceremony and required signatures, Pop Up Weddings will submit the Marriage Registration to Vital Statistics Agency to officially register your marriage.

For those who wish to purchase a marriage license, without a Pop Up Wedding package, licenses can be purchased $100.00. This is the pre-determined license fee in Manitoba. Please contact Christy Elias at christy@popupweddings.ca.
